At CPCMG, we believe that celebrating Earth Day not only helps teach kids the importance of sustainability, but it also encourages them to stay active and connected to the outdoors. Whether it’s planting a tree, participating in a community clean-up, or enjoying nature on a hike, these activities provide meaningful ways to make a positive impact on the planet and promote overall well-being.
Although Earth Day is officially Tuesday, April 22, you can find a family-friendly, free event in your area during April, which is now known as Earth Month:
South Bay Earth Day
Saturday, April 12 from noon to 4pm
Chula Vista Bayfront Park, Chula Vista
Informative booths will offer ways on how to reduce our impact on the environment; enjoy entertainment and food vendors.
San Diego EarthFest
Saturday, April 19 from 11am to 5pm
Balboa Park, San Diego
Enjoy sustainable food, craft, and service vendors along with environmental, conservation, and animal rescue groups; event also includes music, speakers, and activities for kids.
Earth & Arbor Day
Saturday, April 19 from 9am to 11 am
Harveston Community Park, 28582 Harveston Drive, Temecula
Visit with local environmental organizations, watch the ceremonial tree planting, and enjoy the Easter Egg hunt.
Creek to Bay Cleanup
Saturday, April 26 at various locations around San Diego County
Organized by I Love a Clean San Diego, participate in the largest cleanup in San Diego County for Earth Week (registration opens April 1).
Riverside Insect Fair
Saturday, April 26 from 10am to 4pm

Learn all about bugs, take part in a cockroach race, explore a day in the life of UC Riverside’s entomology grad students and visit vendor booths.
