Big Read Kickoff!

Celebrate the kickoff of the Oceanside Public Library Big Read selection, Station Eleven, with the opening of Artifacts, Survival Is Insufficient, and The Museum of Civilization. All three exhibitions are based on themes from the novel Station Eleven. A limited number of free copies of the novel will be available at the reception.

During the months of March and April the Oceanside Public Library will host a series of programs including a display at the Oceanside Museum of Art, Theater Workshops with the Old Globe, a Scholar Panel, and a visit from the author. The novel is set in the Great Lakes region. A fictional swine flu pandemic known as the Georgia Flu has devastated the world, killing most of the population.
