Meet Our Panelists:
Mayor Catherine Blakespear, Encinitas Mayor: Mayor Blakespear is an outspoken & passionate leader in addressing and acknowledging the City of Encinitas’ commitment to be part of the solution to homelessness.

Captain John Marion, Encinitas Sheriff: Captain Maryon is known for his open lines of communication with the public, including “coffee with the Community” events, inviting residents to discuss safety and security issues.

Michael Williams, Author & Veteran: Michael was formerly homeless in Encinitas & obtained housing through the City of Encinitas’ partnership with Community Resource Center. Mr. Williams is passionate about educating people about homelessness and has written several books available on Amazon.

Michael McConnell, Homeless Advocate: Michael is a San Diego businessman, key voice and influencer who is committed to reducing homelessness. Michael has served as a leader in San Diego in the “25 Cities” initiative and on the San Diego Regional Task Force on the Homeless. He also runs the popular Homelessness News San Diego page.

Stephen Russell, Executive Director of San Diego Housing Federation: Stephen has a 20-year history working in community and economic development in the Mid-City region of San Diego and is a respected voice for Affordable Housing in the region.
