Events in Fallbrook

Avocado Festival

The Annual Fallbrook Avocado Festival includes local artisans on the Artisan Walk on Alvarado, Cazadores Margaritas at the Main Stage area, featuring local talent, food, wine garden, local beer, community stage, kid's zone and Avocado Central (located in the center of the event) where avocados and trees can be purchased.

Hike the Santa Margarita River

The river maintains its relatively untrammeled existence both to the presence of nearby Camp Pendleton and the relative remoteness and inaccessibility of the landscape through which it travels. Of all the rivers in Southern California, only the Santa Margarita River remains undiverted, unchanneled, and un-dammed.

Los Jilgueros Preserve

A beautiful 46 acre preserve near the heart of Fallbrook with a variety of looping trails totaling over 2 miles through field & riparian forest. Ponds, wetland areas, and groves of mature trees offer wonderful bird watching opportunities.

Fallbrook's Railroad History

The town of FallBrook was originally settled by Vital and Anthony Reche in 1869 including the area that is now Live Oak Park. In 1882 the California Southern Railroad was constructed from National City up the coast and traveled inland along the Santa Margarita River to Temecula and beyond. Proximity to the railroad caused many settlers to move westerly to the town of West Fallbrook (now downtown Fallbrook).
