National Trails Day: June 4, 2022
If you’re a fan of hiking, biking, horseback riding, walking your dog, then you probably know that tomorrow, June 4th is National Trails Day! The American Hiking Society established this day almost 30 years ago to encourage people to come together to enjoy hiking and other trail activities, and to educate the community about the importance of keeping our hiking trails clean and safe.
There are many benefits to hiking which can positively impact a family’s mental and physical well-being: fresh air, healthy exercise, bonding time and learning about nature are just a few. The other great thing about hiking is that in most cases it is a free activity that can be experienced all year round in our amazing southern California weather.
So enjoy the trails and remember to dress appropriately: wear a hat and sunscreen, bring water and snacks, and help keep trails clean and trash-free by picking up trash along the way.
